So you may remember a post I had awhile back about giving away one of Apple’s most amazing products, the iPad. I won’t bore you with my many words of how fun and completely unnecessary this gadget is. All I know, is if you buy the Angry Birds App, you’ll be one happy Apple loving fan.

Those that made “the cut”.

I asked my sister, Denise, to draw the winning names.

And the winner is……

Congratulations Brittany & Jeff! You are now the proud owner of an iPad!

Baby Jayden

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

I had the pleasure of photographing Darnelle’s maternity photos a month or so ago. And this week I got to meet the little guy inside her tummy. His hair!! Love love love! Jayden rushed into the world on November 1st. It was less than 5 hours from the first contraction to delivery! Oh me, oh my! I imagine he’ll grow to be the boy that moves a tad faster than the rest. Spontaneous. Unpredictable. And now that this is out on the inter-web, I have proof that I called it first!

Darnelle & Jon, enjoy your two little guys! Hope you can keep up!

(This post has far too many exclamation points….. Oh well!!!!!!)

The Martha in me.

Friday, November 19th, 2010

The other night I couldn’t sleep. Usually this happens when I’m stressed about something, but this wasn’t one of those nights. It was a thinking night. I bet Martha Stewart has plenty of these nights. Laying in bed with eyes wide open, dreaming up the secret ingredient to apple pie, or figuring out how to make a wreath out of human hair. I realize the “human hair” part is pushing it a little…. but she did do some time behind bars… that has to make you a little strange. Right?

My idea? Making yarn Christmas tree ornaments with thrifted items. Cheap. Err… inexpensive.

The $$ breakdown:

  • Christmas balls  $1.00
  • Glue  $.50
  • Yarn $.25

Total Cost: $1.75

Was it worth it?? You decide. If not, maybe I’ll spend less sleepless nights thinking up holiday decorating ideas and a little more time coming up with a solution to the homeless epidemic.

Ornaments before:

Like how I find sneaky ways to put up photos of my kids?? Tricky lady….

And after:

Alison, John and their family made the trek from Delta and Langley to have their family photos done this last weekend. Each time I take extended family photos, I can’t help but think how strange it’ll be to have grown children. Right now I’m in a very “hands on” phase of parenting. Chasing toddlers, changing diapers, making PB&J sandwiches, waking up  before the sun… not easy… but worth it. One day my babies will be making babies of there own – strange.

My favorite thing about this family? They laugh. A lot.

So here they are!

I figured I should wrap up this blog post with a photo of Hannah. She’s the only grand baby right now,  and really was the star of the shoot. Hannah, thanks for making my job easy.
