Welcome Sydney Tea Party

Sometimes I take a break from weddings. A break from the kids. A break from editing. And have a tea party. (Okay… this doesn’t really happen all that often. Definitely not often enough.) The one time a decade that a tea party is planned, puff balls are made, and cupcakes bought, I can’t help but bring my camera. Document friendship, new birth, and creativity. I made the puff balls. Yes, I take full credit… unless you think they’re lame… or that they at all remind you of the Blair Witch Project… then they aren’t mine. Nope. Found them in the trash.

My sister had baby Sydney two weeks ago! We wanted to have a small “Welcome Sydney Tea Party”… so we did.

Denise

My sister, Denise, is building baby number 2! So what else could we do but snap some photos of her gorgeous self?? My girl, Amy, joined me for this one… as she will be for the next bunch, as well as my niece (baby number 1) Savana (aka “Vana”, or “Nana” to my wee ones) . Four girls in a scummy part of Mission… sounds like a fabulous Sunday, huh? Well, there is something about the dirt and grime that makes my heart so happy (Joe says I always talk about my heart. Can’t help it. I’m a feeler). Especially when you throw some pretty people in the mix. Such a perfect contrast. And then you top it off with an ugly… yet beautiful, half broken, abandoned chair into the scene… I’d chose this scenario over a Starbucks Coconut Mocha Frap any day. True story.

And what do I love even more than random ugly/beautiful chairs? Vintage cars. Obviously. The left two shots are compliments of Ame-ster (never called her that… but now I’m sure I will).

The Collaboration – for real this time…

Jessica of Trove and I sat down for coffee a few weeks ago and put some wheels on an idea I had brewing for a few months. To get together as many wedding related vendors/services, and throw them all into one mock bridal inspired shoot. Jessica ran with it! And with how busy I am, I completely love her for it! I fished up the models, and she organized the rest – what a rockstar! So future brides of mine, if you are a vintage fan, be sure to check out TROVE, for her vintage rentals and paper creations!
