He says he’s “not photogenic”. Not true.
She has the greatest shoes ever. So true.
Dori & Mike, you are one more reason why I love my job. Photographing you is as easy as sipping wine…. mmmmm…. red wine… (sorry – pregnant woman remembering everything I’m not allowed to do!).

I met Tamara when we were thirteen. On Wednesday nights, our Church had Clubs… honestly, I don’t at all remember what we did there, but I do remember that there was the “cool kids”… and then there was me and Tamara. I realize this shocks most of my readers. The reality is, you have to be a loser at some point in your life. Some people are cool in their teen years… and not so cool in their adult years. I chose to get it over with when I was young. Well… maybe it chose me. Either way, the “leftovers” had no options… we may as well be friends. It beats talking to the wall. As we grew older, two great things happened: we got cooler (obviously) and we grew closer. I’m not sure we ever did the BFF necklaces, but we may as well have.
Since then, Tams has run off to Ottawa and met a boy. This is Dave. He’s pretty great. And let’s be real – they look pretty good together. Last Friday, on HIS birthday, he asked for her hand. She is a pretty fantastic present.
I forgot to ask him if he was ever a loser…. I hope so.

There are many things I love in this world… there is the obvious – my family, friends, God, etc. But my favorites can’t be summed up in a blog post, the real list is long. Seriously extensive. In this one night, at least seven of those favorite things are represented in this engagement session. I can prove it.
1. Vancouver (Us folks from Abbotsford dream of ditching the manure smells and heading to the highly populated and gorgeous city of Van… especially with our camera!)
2. The Ocean (Need I say more??)
3. People in love for me to photo stalk (Jeff and Brittany made it EASY! For reals. Even my Grandma could makes these kids look spectacular. Some people just know how to work it.)
4. A second photographer (Amy…. who blew my mind! She is my girl in training, who won’t need much of it before she comes to a wedding near you!)
5. Purdys Chocolates (Technically, there is no chocolate in this shoot, but Brittany works for Purdy’s… so she is standing in to represent the Purdy’s beautiful name!!
6. Drive (Jeff has trained for a Half Ironman which will be next weekend — inspired?? I am! First I need to learn to swim…)
7. Co-operative Birds (don’t believe me? Check out the swans on the last photograph… one of Amy’s tops!!)

My favorite that Amy took…. Oh Vancouver….

See why I love shooting with a second photographer??? My angle on the left, Amy’s on the right.

My angle… (Isn’t she GORGEOUS????)

Amy’s perspective….

Brittany & Jeff, looking forward to shooting your wedding this summer!

Engagement sessions are the perfect opportunity to “break the ice” with the future Bride & Groom. Enough is happening on the Wedding day, so having some relaxed photo taking time a few months before, makes the portraits on the day of more comfortable for the couple.
Mike & Sarah love the farm life, so where better to have their engagement session than in the country. Can’t wait ’till they seal the deal in August!
